Tab Anchor was built with privacy and simplicity at its core. We do not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information. All extension activity takes place locally on your device and stays inside your browser.

1. Introduction

1.1. This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) explains how Tab Anchor handles your information when using the browser extension (“Extension”).

1.2. Tab Anchor is developed and provided by Night Owl Labs, LLC (“we”, “us”, or “our”).

1.3. By installing or using the Extension, you agree to the terms of this Policy.

1.4. This Policy should be read in conjunction with the Chrome Web Store Developer Program Policies.

2. What We Collect

2.1. Tab Anchor does not collect:

Browsing history
Website content
Cookies or analytics
Location data
Device identifiers
Any form of user tracking

2.2. The Extension does not transmit any data outside your device. All functionality occurs locally inside Chrome.

3. Local Storage Only

3.1. Tab Anchor uses Chrome’s local storage API only to save your extension settings:

Anchor window position (screen coordinates)
Whether to reuse the same window or open new ones
Whether to process only hyperlink-created tabs
Whether new windows should be focused

3.2. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to Night Owl Labs.

4. Permissions

4.1. The following Chrome permissions are used:

storage — saves your extension’s settings locally.
tabs — allows moving or updating newly created tabs.
windows — required to open or focus anchor windows.
webNavigation — detects when new tabs are created via links.
contextMenus — enables the “Open Link in Current Window” menu.

4.2. Tab Anchor does not read page content, inspect data, or track activity.

5.1. We do not sell, rent, or share any data because the Extension does not collect any.

5.2. No data is transmitted to Night Owl Labs.

6. No Remote Code

6.1. Tab Anchor does not load or execute remote code, external scripts, or third-party resources. All code is packaged inside the extension.

7. Children’s Privacy

7.1. Because Tab Anchor does not collect any information, it is safe for all ages.

8. Policy Updates

8.1. We may update this Policy periodically. The latest version will always be available on our website.
